Sunday Gathering

Sunday mornings we gather together and discover Jesus through songs, sharing, and most importantly the Word of God. We have been intentional in choosing to meet in our café to encourage a relaxed and comfortable setting that fosters relationships.

We know that we are not perfect and that’s okay because God uses our weaknesses as well as our strengths. What we need to be is honest and interested in people & open our lives to them. We believe that by intentionally loving other people we build community. You are welcome to gather and build community with us.

just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

Table Sharing

Christian spirituality has something important to say about the way that sharing a meal nourishes us both physically and spiritually. The table is the place where, in our brokenness, we find connection and belonging. It is a place to remember the blessings of God. We recognize the importance of gathering with people around our tables for the purpose of enjoying a meal as both a gift and a means of grace.

One Sunday a month our JM family and any visitors join us in the café for lunch following our morning gathering. We creatively call this ‘SOUP SUNDAE” as it initially began with a selection of delicious old-fashioned soup and a trip around our sundae bar. Over time the menu has grown as well as the number of participants.

Often our Life Groups participate in meal sharing as well with the men meeting Saturday mornings over breakfast and our weeknight Life Group for dinner.

We invite you to join us and connect around our table.

“We bring to light God's purposes in the seemingly ordinary act of sharing a meal…

this everyday experience is really an opportunity for grace, community, and mission.”

The Pines Chapel

The Pines Chapel is an architectural marvel designed in 1961 for the Ursuline Sisters. This modernist chapel features a crown-like appearance and a stunning circular interior. After the Ursuline sisters gave up the building, it lay in disrepair for years until being acquired by Joshua Ministries. A group of our dedicated volunteers restored the rotunda-style sanctuary, garnering the Mayor’s Heritage Preservation Award for their work. While the chapel is not being used for our Sunday gatherings we often use it for community concerts and events. It is also being put to use by residents of Grand Retirement for concerts and special services as well as by the students and staff of Ursuline College.

UPDATE: Due to recent issues with the chapel roof that has resulted in some water damage we are currently limiting its use as we evaluate and plan for repairs.
